Our mission is to serve the fishing community of Sacramento, CA, and the surrounding areas by providing quality fishing bait and tackle, up-to-date local fishing information, and hands on “know-how.” We are dedicated to nurturing the passion and tradition of fishing throughout Northern California, helping anglers of all levels enjoy successful and memorable experiences on the water.

GHOST BAIT & TACKLE opened in 2021 during COVID to fill the void left by local tackle shop closures in Sacramento, California. Conveniently located just off Interstate 5 on W. El Camino Ave in the Natomas area, we are proud to serve as a trusted fishing supply shop for Sacramento anglers and visitors alike.
We love supporting our loyal customers many of whom proudly call us “my shop” while also welcoming newcomers to the Sacramento fishing community. Whether you’re a beginner learning the ropes or an experienced angler chasing trophy catches, our goal is to help you succeed in the sport we love so much: fishing. To make sure you’re ready before sunrise, we open at 5 a.m. seven days a week. Our Sacramento bait and tackle shop carries live bait, frozen bait, and quality tackle for multiple species of fish found throughout Northern California. From local creeks and ponds to Folsom Lake, the Delta, and even the Bay, we stock the essentials you need for a successful fishing trip. In addition to major national brands, we proudly carry unique local products that you won’t find in big box stores. |
THE OWNER
A proud military veteran, born and raised in Sacramento, CA, the owner has had a lifelong passion for fishing. As a child, he would cast a line anywhere there was water whether at William Land Park, Southside Park, or the many ponds and waterways he could reach by bicycle. Along the way, he was influenced by a few key mentors: his neighbor “Connie,” an avid bass fisherman; “Bubba,” who specialized in bait fishing for catfish, stripers, and panfish; and “Jack,” a co-worker of his mother’s who introduced him to the art of fly fishing.
By the age of 12, he was already tying flies and fishing the American River and other trout streams and “creeks.”
His passion only grew as he gained experience working as a deckhand in Bodega Bay and later on a salmon boat in Alaska.
For him, the species never mattered what mattered was the joy and peace that fishing always brought.
Out of this lifelong love, he opened GHOST BAIT & TACKLE to share his passion and knowledge with the Sacramento fishing community and beyond.
